Dog Friendly
EVENT FULL - ALL ENTRIES NOW CLOSED & WE ARE NO LONGER ADDING TO OUR WAITING LIST.
The Mortimer 10km has a new look for 2021, with a new multi terrain course and new organisers. As always though, the race will start & finish on Mortimer Fairground, and we have a canicross entry option for those wishing to run the 10km with their dog(s).
PLEASE NOTE - to safely manage the event in accordance with Covid requirements, there will now be no walking event or 1km fun run.
Our new 10km course takes in the beautiful local woodlands, using footpaths and bridleways. The course is undulating and uneven in places, therefore not suitable for pushchairs/buggies or wheelchairs.

RACE BRIEFING
Welcome to the Rebellion 10km, a part of our Ales & Trails series partnering with breweries.
Please make sure that you have read the Race Guide on the event website. It is assumed that you have read and understood this brief prior to attending the event.

11:30 – Last finishers
Registration -
Race Registration is found in the gazebos 100m from the rugby clubhouse. Collect your number, and any pre-ordered merchandise.
Race numbers to be worn on your front, don't fold them. Your token for a free drink post-event is a tear strip at the bottom - don't tear off until afterwards!

Start Procedure -
Ths start line is 400m from the clubhouse; just follow the "To The Start" signage.
You start in waves every two minutes. Starting waves are not pre-assigned, if you want to start first for instance, get yourself to the front.
The course -
We have a lovely multi terrain course for you. It's flat until 3km, with a large hill until 4km, flat and downhill thereafter.
You'll be running on the Thames towpath, narrow woodland paths (some of which are single file), wide tracks, road and pavement. KEEP LEFT along road sections, and keep on the pavement where possible. The roads are open to traffic.
It's a technical course, including steps and gates, be careful.
Water Refill Stations – due to the predicted warm weather, we now have TWO on the course at 4.5km and 7.5km, and at the start/finish. NO CUPS ARE PROVIDED, carry your own bottle/cup/hydration pack etc.
Safety -
The course is likely to be uneven underfoot at times. Along the road sections, please keep tight to the left hand or pavements where possible & listen out for marshals instructions.
You do not have priority on the public paths or on the roads, be courteous and be safe.
Signage -
The course is signed with yellow arrows as well as red and white tape tied to trees/bushes. Each kilometre point will be marked. If you do not see any signage, go back to where you last saw an arrow. Pay attention!

Finish -
As you cross the finish line your result will be live online via the event website.
On finishing, you'll receive your finishers medal and Rebellion 10km cup. Water containers are ready for you to fill your own bottles. Remember – no cups are provided - you'll have a pint cup in your hand by now!
From the finish line, it is a short walk over to the Rebellion Brewery pop-up shop, and you can redeem the voucher from your race number for a bottle of Rebellion beer; it can be used once, and on event day only. If you'd like your free drink to be a soft drink, head into the rugby club bar instead.
Hot & Cold drinks, snacks are available to purchase from the rugby club, and there will be a BBQ outside. The team from Vanillo Cookies will be with us, be sure to pay them a visit also.
Massage is available near the finish line at £10 for 10 mins.
Prizes will be given out at the finish line. If you think that you might be in for a prize, don't go anywhere.
Thank You -
Firstly, thank you to the team from Marlow Rugby Club & Rebellion Brewery. Thank you to our race timer, Timing Monkey, Muscle & Mind, Vanillo Cookies, our medics from Beyond First Aid, and of course Runners' Retreat.
Most of all though, and please show your appreciation when you see them, thank you to our race day volunteers and our race photographers.
