Refreshments – teas & coffees are available in the rugby club bar pre-event.
Hot food will be available from the race start time onwards - fingers crossed for dry weather and you'll be having a BBQ!
Registration - open between 08:15 & 09:25 and will be found in the finish area adjacent to the rugby club building.
Collect your race number and pins. Your race number should be visible & pinned on your front. YOUR RACE NUMBER CONTAINS YOUR VOUCHER FOR A FREE BOTTLE OF REBELLION BEER - DON'T TEAR IT OFF UNTIL AFTER THE FINISH!!!
Start Times – You will have rolling staggered starts every two minutes from 09:30 until 09:40 There are narrow portions of the course within the first 2km, you'll be set off in groups to ease course congestion. Starting groups are not pre-assigned, you will be set off in groups of 50 as you present yourself at the start line. If you want to be in the first group to set off, get to the front!
Chip Timing – your timing chip is on the back of your race number, so your own start & finish times are taken. Note - prizes are based upon chip times.
Baggage – leave your bag in the car if you can. We will store bags at the start/finish for those who require it.
Toilets – these are found within the rugby club building
ON THE COURSE
Race Briefing – further details about the course and final reminders will be in the briefing. This will be online and found from May 21st.
Terrain - The course is mixed terrain and largely on firm ground. We take in the Thames towpath, footpaths, woodland track and some sections of road & pavement. Road shoes will be sufficient for the course, but as a mixed trail course, this is weather dependent!
75% of the course uses off-road surfaces, it is uneven and narrow in places.
The course features some flights of steps and multiple gates along the Thames Path.
Hilly/Flat? The route includes 77m of elevation gain throughout the 10km - the course is flat until 3km, has a big hill to 4km, a gradual downhill to 6km, then flat again to the finish.
Signage – the course is well signed with yellow arrows, red & white tape and KM markers. As a trail race, there will not be a marshal at every turn, look out for the signage and follow the arrows.
Headphones – we politely request that you do not use in-ear headphones for your own safety. Whatever you choose to wear or not wear, you need to be able to hear marshals instructions.
Water Refill Stations – TWO on course, at 4.5km & 7.5km and ONE at the start/finish. These are self service and you will need to carry your own drinks vessel with you – NO CUPS ARE PROVIDED - use the water stations to top-up your own supplies.
Etiquette – there are some single file sections on the course, and the route is open to the general public, including dog walkers, cyclists, horse riders etc - we expect you to be courteous, please do so. You may be in a race, but you don't have priority over others. The road sections are open to traffic.

COURSE IN DETAIL
We have a lovely multi terrain course for you.
The start line is 400m away from the Rugby Club building in a green space next to the River Thames. You'll be starting in waves every two minutes in order to spread you out and ease navigation in the early part of the course.
It's Thames Towpath until 1.5km, where you pick up a road section for 400m. Keep left along the road. Some narrow footpaths take you to Marlow Bridge, keep to the footway as you cross to the South side of the river.
Keep to the pavement along Quarry Wood Rd until directed by marshals. Just after 3km you head off road and uphill on a woodland track. It's narrow at 4km before you reach the views of Winter Hill and the water refill station at 4.6km. NO CUPS remember.

A beautiful wide downhill track sees 5km at Cock Marsh, cross the fields to hit Bourne End rail bridge - mind the steps at either end of the bridge as you cross back over the River Thames here.
From 7km to the finish line it's all flat along the riverside footpath. There are a number of gates to navigate all of the way until 9.8km where you leave the Thames back at the rugby club and final straight.
75% of your route is on off-road surfaces and you have an elevation gain of 77m throughout. The terrain is firm enough to use road shoes. The ground is uneven on the trail sections, and some portions are narrow.
The route is a fraction long at 10.3km, but it's simply to good not to offer you! The finish line is right by the rugby club and very adjacent to the Rebellion pop-up shop!!
SPECTATOR INFO
As a trail running event, access to portions of the running route is limited. It is possible to drive to locations in Winter Hill or Bourne End, park up and then spectate nearby, however we would advise against driving offsite immediately after the starts as this may impact runners safety on the course.
Unless you know the local area well enough to navigate yourself around, we would suggest that spectators stay onsite at the Marlow Rugby Club throughout the event.
WARM WEATHER PLANS & ADVICE
We are due some warm & sunny weather over the event weekend, so we wanted to let you know what we do in such circumstances and to give some general advice to keep you more comfortable and safe.
The current weather forecast suggests we'll have between 23 & 27 degrees, with sunshine & light winds; most of us will consider that to be warm for running, so please take care of yourselves.
We are including two water refill stations for you around the course at 4.5km and 7.5km. Please note: you will need to carry your own drinks cup/ bottom/ vessel as cups are not provided.

NO CUPS ARE PROVIDED at the water refill stations. We cannot recommend enough that you carry your own drinks bottles/vessels/hydration packs/silicone cups around with you, and simply use the water stations to top up with.
Carrying your own bottles allows you to drink more throughout your run - rather than glugging a small mouthful from a cup sporadically as you might otherwise.
Some of the route is under tree cover and has shade, but most doesn't; we suggest you wear loose fitting kit, we certainly recommend wearing sunglasses, hats and suncream.
Rehydrate thoroughly but slowly post event. You are of course provided with a pint cup at the finish line, please use it to rehydrate before moving on to something potentially more enjoyable.
AT THE FINISH
Back at the finish line in the park you’ll see our big red Racing Line Running gantry. Cross the line and your result is automatically recorded.
You'll pick up your finishers medal and Rebellion 10km pint cup. Your drink voucher is a tear-off tag on your race number; make sure that you don't lose yours - we don't give them out twice!! Remember, it's a
There will be water in containers for you to refill your own bottles or cups with too.
Results & Prizes – ‘live’ results will be available online courtesy of our timers, the awesome Timing Monkey. Prizes are issued from chip times, so results won't be confirmed immediately given the staggered starts.
Overall prizes will be issued at the finish line with Age Category prizes being posted out in the days after the race.

ANYTHING ELSE?
Drink Voucher - Your voucher for a free drink at the Rebellion Brewery pop-up shop is found at the bottom of your race number. This is for one free bottle of Rebellion beer, and to be used on race day only.
Take your Rebellion 10km cup to the pop-up shop and you can redeem your voucher for a bottle of beer. If you would rather have a soft drink instead, please take your drink voucher inside to the rugby club bar.
Rebellion 10km Shop – the awesome guys from Rebellion will also have further stock available to purchase on event day.
Refreshments – Teas/coffees and cold drinks are available pre-event, with full bar service available post event, along with top quality BBQ food available once the event has started. Vanillo Cookies will be with us too.
Massage – Muscle & Mind will be on hand at the finish line to ease those aching muscles both pre and post event. A 10 minute massage is available for just £10 – cash payment available but contactless payment preferred.
Runners' Retreat - the event is a real Marlow through & through collaborative effort, with everyone's favourite running shop with us on the day as well. Runners' Retreat will help you with any last minute kit requirements and advice.
Marshals – thank you so much to our awesome event volunteers, we couldn’t do it without you.
