ON THE COURSE
Race Briefing – further details about the course and final reminders will be in the briefing. This will be online only and found from April 16th.

Terrain - The course is mixed terrain and on mainly firm ground, with short sections on potentially muddy trails. We take in very brief sections of small local roads, woodlands, farm tracks and footpaths. The course is currently dry throughout and we suggest using road shoes, subject to the weather. Some sections will be uneven underfoot.
Flat/Hilly/Undulating? The 10km has a total of 162m of climbing, and contains undulations throughout. The Half Marathon has 319m.

Canicross 10km – will complete the same route as the 10km event. Canicross competitors must keep their dogs on a harness throughout and need to be considerate of other runners. You can run with multiple dogs should you wish, however, prizes will only be awarded amongst those running with one dog.
NEW this year, you will be set off in small groups at 1 minute intervals from 09:50.
Signage – the course is well signed with yellow arrows, red & white tape and KM/Mile markers. As a trail race, there will not be a marshal at every turn, look out for the signage and follow the arrows.

Headphones – we politely request that you do not use in-ear headphones for your own safety.

Water Refill Stations – ONE on the 10km course at 4.5km, THREE on the Half course, at 4.1, 7 & 10.1 miles, and ONE at the start/finish. These are self service and you will need to carry your own drinks vessel with you – no cups are provided. There will be a dog bowls.

Etiquette – there are some single file sections on the course, and the route is open to the general public - please be courteous . You may be in a race, but you do not have priority over others.

COURSE IN DETAIL
We have absolutely gorgeous multi terrain courses for you, featuring wide farm tracks, bridleways, footpaths and woodland trails, and just very short sections of road.
The 10km is ONE LAP, whilst the Half Marathon completes TWO LARGER LAPS.

10KM COURSE -
You start on a track leaving the farm taking in some private fields within the first 1km. A few hundred metres of narrow woodland trail gives way to a wide track and a long gradual descent to 3km and the village of Popham.

From Popham it's gravel tracks through a woodland area to reach the church in Woodmancott and your water refill point at 4.5km. From the lowest point on the course at 5.5km you start a slow climb reaching a woodland trail at 7km.

At 8km you use some private forestry tracks followed by a gentle downhill back to Dummer Down Farm and the finish.

90% of your route is off-road and you have an elevation gain of 162m throughout. Currently the terrain is firm enough to use road shoes.

HALF MARATHON COURSE -
Just before 3 miles you split from the 10km course, to complete your extended loop. You will largely be on quiet country lanes before rejoining the 10km course again at 5 miles.

At 7 miles, and your 2nd water refill station, you start LAP TWO. You'll be back here again just before 13 miles and you then head for the finish. Your course officially measures in at 13.5 miles - let's see what your GPS says!!

You have 80% off-road and 319m of climbing throughout.

SPECTATOR INFO
If spectators wish to see more of the course, we would suggest you do so on foot from Dummer Down Farm, where you can see the early stages and then see runners approach the finish.

If you'd prefer to get out onto the route further, it is a short drive to the villages of Popham or Woodmancott. If driving, please take care as you will find yourself on the running route, and please park respectively of the residents.
Popham & Woodmancott are at 3km & 4.5km into the 10km course respectively. Our usual advice is, if you need to ask us where to spectate, don't drive anywhere!!
AT THE FINISH
Back at the finish line opposite the brewery you’ll see our big red Racing Line Running gantry. Cross the line and your result is automatically recorded.

You'll pick up your finishers medal and Dell 10km & Half Marathon pint cup. Your drink voucher (giving you a free drink at the bar) is a tear-off strip at the bottom of your race number; leave it on there until after the finish!
There will be water in containers for you to refill your own bottles or cups with too.

Results & Prizes – ‘live’ results will be available online courtesy of our timers, the awesome Timing Monkey.

Overall prizes will be issued at the finish line with Age Category prizes being posted out in the days after the race.
