EVENT FULL - ALL ENTRIES NOW CLOSED & WE ARE NO LONGER ADDING TO OUR WAITING LIST.

The Mortimer 10km has a new look for 2021, with a new multi terrain course and new organisers. As always though, the race will start & finish on Mortimer Fairground, and we have a canicross entry option for those wishing to run the 10km with their dog(s).

PLEASE NOTE - to safely manage the event in accordance with Covid requirements, there will now be no walking event or 1km fun run.

Our new 10km course takes in the beautiful local woodlands, using footpaths and bridleways. The course is undulating and uneven in places, therefore not suitable for pushchairs/buggies or wheelchairs.

  • Beautiful multi terrain course - see the video below for our new two lap course

  • Canicross 10km with separate start. Start times confirmed by April 3rd

  • Race Instructions emailed out & found HERE from March 25th

  • Minimum age - 16 for 10km

  • Free downloadable race photos

  • Online entries close on April 3rd or when capacity is reached

  • Staggered starts, social distancing and more Covid safe measures will be in place. Check out our Covid FAQ's & Measures.

Water refill stations -

10KM  - at 4.7KM

HALF MARATHON - at 4.1 miles, 7 miles & 10.1 miles.

THERE ARE NO CUPS PROVIDED. You should plan to carry your own fluid around the course from the start; use the refill station as a top up, they will be well stocked. Dog Bowls are provided on course and at the start/finish.

Safety -

The course is likely to be uneven underfoot at times, look after yourselves and others. Along the road sections of the course, please keep tight to the left hand side at all points & listen out for marshals instructions.

You do not have priority on the public paths or on the roads, be aware of others and be safe. We expect a certain courtesy from our runners, please live up to that.

Signage -

The course is signed with yellow arrows as well as red and white tape tied to trees/bushes. Each KM & Mile point will be marked. If you do not see any signage, go back to where you last saw an arrow. Pay attention!

Race Number

The courses -

The courses both feature wide farm tracks, bridleways, footpaths and woodland trails, and just short sections of road.

The 10km is ONE LAP, whilst the Half Marathon completes TWO LARGER LAPS.

10KM COURSE -

You start on a track leaving the farm taking in some private fields within the first 1km. You cover this in the opposite direction on your approach to the finish later - the first 1KM is the same as the last 1KM.

At 4.4km make sure you follow marshal instructions and signage for the 10KM COURSE AT THE COURSE SPLIT POINT. Your water refill station is shortly after that at 4.7km.

At 8.9km follow 10KM FINISH signage to the finish, retrace your steps from earlier back to the farm.

Currently the terrain is firm enough to use road shoes.

HALF MARATHON

Just before 3 miles you split from the 10km course, to complete your extended loop. You will largely be on quiet country lanes to a water stop at 4 Miles, before rejoining the 10km course again at 5 miles.

At 7 miles, and your 2nd water refill station, you start LAP TWO. FOLLOW HALF MARATHON SIGNAGE HERE. Your final water stop is at 10 miles.

You'll be back here again just before 13 miles - this time, head for the finish. Your course is 80% off-road.
