EVENT FULL - ALL ENTRIES NOW CLOSED & WE ARE NO LONGER ADDING TO OUR WAITING LIST.

The Mortimer 10km has a new look for 2021, with a new multi terrain course and new organisers. As always though, the race will start & finish on Mortimer Fairground, and we have a canicross entry option for those wishing to run the 10km with their dog(s).

PLEASE NOTE - to safely manage the event in accordance with Covid requirements, there will now be no walking event or 1km fun run.

Our new 10km course takes in the beautiful local woodlands, using footpaths and bridleways. The course is undulating and uneven in places, therefore not suitable for pushchairs/buggies or wheelchairs.

  • Beautiful multi terrain course - see the video below for our new two lap course

  • Canicross 10km with separate start. Start times confirmed by April 3rd

  • Race Instructions emailed out & found HERE from March 25th

  • Minimum age - 16 for 10km

  • Free downloadable race photos

  • Online entries close on April 3rd or when capacity is reached

  • Staggered starts, social distancing and more Covid safe measures will be in place. Check out our Covid FAQ's & Measures.

BATTERSEA BREWERY 5KM & 10KM

RACE BRIEFING

Welcome to the Battersea Brewery 5km & 10km, a new event as part of our Ales & Trails series from breweries.

Please make sure that you have read the race instructions on the event website. It is assumed that you have read and understood this brief prior to attending the event.

Event Day Timetable

17:15 - Registration Opens

18:20 - Registration Closes

18:30 – both 5km & 10km events start together

Registration -

All race numbers are to be collected on the day – no race packs are being posted out in advance. Queue up to collect your number by surname.

Your race number has a timing chip on the reverse, so please don’t bend or fold them.

At the bottom of your race number is a tear-off strip - this is your voucher for a free drink at the Battersea Brewery bar afterwards - don't lose it!

The start line is 200 metres from the race registration area at the Battersea Park Bandstand.

The course -

Each lap is 2.5km, or in actual fact, a short amount under 2.5km. With this, your start line is approx. 150-200m away from the bandstand and registration.

Aside from the start, the beginning and end of each lap will be adjacent to the bandstand.

So, for 5km runners it's a TWO LAP run. At the end of your 2nd lap head for the finish in front of the bandstand.

For 10km runners it's a FOUR LAP run. Only at the end of your 4th lap do you take the start of the finish shoot.

Listen out for marshals instructions and remember that it's upto you to count your own laps.

If you would like to swap distances, you need to inform the team at race registration before the start. If you decide to swap during the event you will be illegible for prizes, and you must inform the team at the finish so that results can be adjusted accordingly.

You will only be taking right hand turns on the course, so keep to the right hand side whilst running - make that you look out for non-event runners, walkers, cyclists etc as the park is open to the public throughout.

Water refill station -

There is one water refill station on the course, found at the end of each 2.5km lap. This is self service – a reminder again – there are no cups provided. You should plan to carry your own fluid around the course if you feel you're likely to need it; use the refill station as a top up.

Safety -

The course is on even ground throughout, but do take care at the start as you'll all be starting together. Please keep to the right hand side at all points & listen out for marshals instructions. You DO NOT have priority around the park, and it is open to the public, be courteous and be safe.

We politely request that you do not wear headphones, especially a variety that will in any way impair your ability to hear marshals instructions or those around you.

Signage -

The course is signed with yellow arrows as well as red and white tape tied to trees/bushes. Each kilometre point will be marked. If you do not see any signage, go back to where you last saw an arrow. Pay attention!

Finish -

As you cross the finish line your result will be live online via the event website.

On finishing, you'll receive your finishers medal & Battersea Brewery 5km & 10km cup. Water containers are ready for you to fill your own bottles. Remember – no cups are provided, so why not use the pint cup we've just given you?!

From the finish line it's just over a half a mile walk to get to the Battersea Brewery, and you can redeem your drink voucher; it can be used once, and on event day only. As a reminder, your drink voucher is a tear-off strip at the bottom of your race number.

You'll pick up our "To The Brewery" signage, and why not scan the QR code at the finish line for directions. The brewery team will be waiting for you!

Your voucher can be exchanged for any pint of brewery beer or a soft drink. There will be food available at the brewery too.

Prizes will be given out at the finish line, age category prizes in the 10km will be posted out afterwards.

Thank You -

Firstly, thank you to the Battersea Brewery and Enable, who manage events in the park. Thank you to our race timer, Timing Monkey, our medics from Beyond First Aid and our sponsors Stillman Insurance.

Most of all though, and please show your appreciation when you see them, thank you to our race day volunteers and our race photographers.
