EVENT FULL - ALL ENTRIES NOW CLOSED & WE ARE NO LONGER ADDING TO OUR WAITING LIST.
The Mortimer 10km has a new look for 2021, with a new multi terrain course and new organisers. As always though, the race will start & finish on Mortimer Fairground, and we have a canicross entry option for those wishing to run the 10km with their dog(s).
PLEASE NOTE - to safely manage the event in accordance with Covid requirements, there will now be no walking event or 1km fun run.
Our new 10km course takes in the beautiful local woodlands, using footpaths and bridleways. The course is undulating and uneven in places, therefore not suitable for pushchairs/buggies or wheelchairs.

3 BREWERS 5KM & 10KM
RACE BRIEFING
Welcome to the 3 Brewers 5km & 10km, the 2nd running of this event as part of our Ales & Trails series from breweries.
Please make sure that you have read the race instructions on the event website. It is assumed that you have read and understood this brief prior to attending the event.
Event Day Timetable –
08:00 - Car park opens
08:15 - Registration Opens
09:20 - Registration Closes
09:30 – both 5km & 10km events start together
Registration -
All race numbers are to be collected on the day – no race packs are being posted out in advance. Your race number has a timing chip on the reverse, so please don’t bend or fold them.
At the bottom of your race number is a tear-off strip - this is your voucher for a free drink at the bar afterwards - don't lose it!
The start line is just a few metres from the race registration area.

Water refill station -
There is one water refill station on the course for the 10km runners, at 5km/end of lap point. This is self service – a reminder again – there are no cups provided. You should plan to carry your own fluid around the course if you feel you're likely to need it; use the refill station as a top up.
Safety -
The course is likely to be uneven underfoot at times, look after yourselves and others. Along the road section of the course, please keep to the left hand side at all points & listen out for marshals instructions. You do not have priority on the public paths or on the roads, be courteous and be safe.
Signage -
The course is signed with yellow arrows as well as red and white tape tied to trees/bushes. Each kilometre point will be marked. If you do not see any signage, go back to where you last saw an arrow. Pay attention!

The course -
We have a beautiful 5km route for you - it's ONE LAP for the 5km event, and TWO LAPS for the 10km event.
Around 80% is off road and it's suitable for either road or off-road shoes. The course is dry and firm currently.
We start in the courtyard opposite the brewery, using a farm track until the 1km point. You'll continue along a country lane until 2.2km before picking up the trails again with a gentle hill to 3km.
A lovely downhill across a harvested field at 4km sees you into a woodland path at 4.2km.
Across a field and you'll pick up a private path back to the 5km point and your water refill station.
5km runners, TURN RIGHT for the finish. 10km runners TURN LEFT here to start lap two, and you'll be back at the water station again at 9.9km, this time TURN RIGHT for the finish and it's a sprint for the line!
Parts of the course are a little uneven underfoot and there a few single file portions.
There is one stretch along road – keep left unless told otherwise and listen for marshals instructions. You do not have priority over cars, stop if you have to.

Finish -
As you cross the finish line your result will be live online via the event website.
On finishing, you'll receive your finishers medal & 3 Brewers 5km & 10km cup. Water containers are ready for you to fill your own bottles. Remember – no cups are provided, so why not use your finish line memento?
It's just 50m from the finish line to get to the brewery, and you can redeem your voucher; it can be used once, and on event day only. As a reminder, your drink voucher is a tear-off strip at the bottom of your race number.
As a special treat, as soon as you've finished we will have a live jazz band playing, so please plan to stick around a whie.
Hot & Cold drinks are available to buy, along with hot food and some snacks.
Massage is available in the barn for £10 for 10 mins.
Prizes will be given out at the finish line, age category prizes may be posted out afterwards.
Thank You -
Firstly, thank you to the 3 Brewers and Symonds Hyde Farm. Thank you to our race timer, Rogue Racer, Muscle & Mind, our medics from Beyond First Aid, our event caterers and our sponsors Stillman Insurance.
Most of all though, and please show your appreciation when you see them, thank you to our race day volunteers and our race photographers.

WE'LL SEE YOU ON SUNDAY JUNE 28TH
