TAPYARD ULTRA FAQS
BEFOREHAND

It's a point to event - how does that work?
The run this year starts at Ramsbury Brewery, and finishes at the Renegade Brewery - you have TWO main choices.

1) Park at Ramsbury Brewery or get dropped off by supporters. If you drive yourself, you'll need to get back to Ramsbury post-event to collect your car.

2) Park at the Renegade Brewery (the finish) on event morning and catch one of our event shuttles to the start at Ramsbury. You'll need to book this as part of your event entry. Complete your run, and your car is there at the finish already

Where is Race Registration? What do we get?
Race Registration will always be at the START end of the run, so this year that will be at Ramsbury Brewery.

At registration you'll collect your race number & pins, along with a Tapyard Ultra memento. NO RACE NUMBERS ARE BEING POSTED OUT.

On your race number will be your baggage tag (see below), event medic details, and QR code for the course map

Adjacent to registration will be the nutrition drop area (see below)

Is there car parking?
Yes, there is free car parking onsite. Car share where possible.

Is there a bag drop?
Yes, bag drop will be at Race Registration. Label your bag with your numbered bag tag, place it on the baggage van and it will be taken to the finish at Renegade Brewery for you.
Is there car parking?
Yes, there is free car parking onsite at both the start & finish. Car share where possible.

Can I start with friends?
Yes, runners will be set off in groups at the start, but you can select your own start time between 8:00 & 8:30. Just co-ordinate with friends.

Is the Kit List mandatory?
Some of the items of the kit list are marked as mandatory and are non-negotiable; other items are listed as 'recommended'. If you are found to not be carrying a mandatory item during the event, the organisers may add 1 hour to your time or disqualify you from the event.

Are there toilets?
There are toilets at the start & finish venues and some are available around the course too. We aim to have toilets available at each checkpoint and public toilets will be sporadically available along the route. Toilet locations will be marked on the course map found via the QR code on your race number.

ON THE COURSE
What's the course like?
It's scenic and largely flat from 10km to 35km, taking in a variety of surfaces throughout. The ground is firm and we recommend using road shoes.

Is it well signed?
Yes, you can follow the course marked by our A4 size yellow arrows. You are also provided with a GPX version of the route within a week of race day.

Can I run with a pacer?
Yes, on the public accessible parts of the course.

Can I run with my dog?
Yes, although all dogs must be attached to a harness and you will be exempt from winning a prize.

How strict is the cut off time?
We will stick to the cut off times as they are in place for your safety. You must make the checkpoint cut off times around the course, which allow for even paced progression around the course to finish in time for the 5pm finish time.
CHECKPOINTS
How far are the checkpoints?
There will be four checkpoints on the course, at approximately 10km intervals.

What will I find at the checkpoints?
You'll find food & drink, and other essentials. We plan to have toilets at all checkpoints, but it's TBC. The food available will be snacks such as biscuits, crisps, chocolate, cereal bars, sweets, flapjack and bananas. On offer to drink will be water, squash, flat cola and energy drinks.

What if I have dietary preferences or needs?
You should use our personal nutrition drop service. You can have your own nutrition sent on to checkpoints 3 & 4, just drop if off at race registration pre start and it'll be taken there for you. You can of course carry your own supplies until then.

Will there be cups available at the checkpoints?
No, the event is free of single use cups, so if you'll want to drink from a cup on the course, you'll need to bring your own.

ANYTHING ELSE
Are UTMB points available?
No, that's not planned for this year.

What are my options if I enter then get injured and can't run?
If more than 3 months to go, you can opt to defer your entry or to swap your place to another runner. Within 3 months of race day, you can swap your place to another runner, marshal in exchange for a deferral or forfeit your place in exchange for a 50% off voucher for a future race. See the event terms & conditions for full details.

Is there anything for spectators to do?
Spectators can follow the course easily enough, however we cannot allow spectators into the checkpoint areas. There will be 50km worth of route to see your runner - please avoid the 4 checkpoints so that we can ensure access to our event medics if required.

What happens if I need to pull out?
If you can no longer continue, or are asked to stop following missing a cut off time just must inform a marshal or Race HQ. You will need to be self sufficient in returning to the Finish.

What if I'm injured?
We have event medics, both stationed at the Start/Finish and out around the course. Contact them directly if you are able in the instance of a serious injury to yourself or another runner.

Are there marshals?
Yes, at the checkpoints and at key positions on the course.

AT THE FINISH
What do I get at the finish?
A Tapyard Ultra medal and pint cup, plus a voucher for a free drink at the bar. You can choose your favourite drink from either Brewery, with bars available from both Ramsbury & Renegade breweries, no matter the venue.
There are drinks and snacks, sports massage will be available and the Renegade Brewery will have full food service available.

Are there prizes?
Yes, there will be prizes for the first three female & male finishers overall, and for the female and male age category winners.
